Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on November 12, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast, and is the only person to be awarded 10/10 marks at an Olympic performance. Bela Karrolyi was a Romanian gymnastics instructor who was later Comaneci's coach, first discovered Comaneci when she was just six years old. The year 1969 was the first time she competed in the Romanian Junior Championships and finished 13th. In 1970, she won the title. At her first international competition, which was a preolympics junior competition for nations in the Communist bloc, she took home three gold medals. In 1973 and 1975 she was named the all-around Junior Champion. Her debut as a Senior in the year 1975, she defeated Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva. She was the five-time European champion who won four gold medals and one silver. She was the first female ever to perform a backwards double salto while dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She began her career in the entertainment industry during her teenage years performing as the figure skating duo of their twin sister Nina Wayne for the travelling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol's first job was in entertainment during her teenage year. She started her career performing figure skating with Nina Wayne, her younger sister as part of traveling entertainment shows Ice Capades. These shows included the ice skating of which was followed by musical performances.
