Laura Linney is an American actor who has become popular for her portrayal of vulnerable but strong characters. She was raised by an unmarried mother, who worked as a nurse. Her interest in theatre during the holidays with her famous father. She was a student of acting at Brown University, and later at Juilliard School. She began her Broadway career shortly after graduating, and then made her television debut the following year. Over the past few years she has appeared in a variety of films, television productions and stage plays. She has won many awards during her professional career. This includes four Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three Academy Award Nominations, and five Tony Award Nominations. In spite of numerous awards acting has been her passion first and foremost. She continues to perform both in stage and screen.
